Dixie Spangler is the song leader in the vesper shot. On the front row left you see Alice Schroeder and Dick Thayer. Just down from him is John Headrick. He may have been the vesper speaker.

The box hockey has an interesting background. The two axe handles that we normally used were both broken, so the boys had to use shorter sticks if they wanted to play. Jay Young is leaning in to watch on the right, and Gary Holzhauer is beside him.

Ed Hayden Classic, 1966

From Paula: We had a marvelous faculty for my camp years. Ed Hayden, the editor of the Christian Standard at the time, personally encouraged me to publish my first story in their Straight Magazine publication. Dad said, regarding this classic photo, "A perfect illustration of how busy people could take the time to work in camp. Without them the camp experience would be poorer."

The girls in this picture are Patty Harford and Carla Clover. I think the boys are from Greenville, too.

From Frank Bush: As I've looked back through the old negatives I am surprised how many times I took pictures of a campfire. I guess the reason I tried these shots is because of all of the camp activities, campfire (photographically) was the most challenging.
