You say Melissa and Janet were best friends -- did they also sing together? I know matching outfits for singing groups were also "in".
No, Janet was not a singer. Melissa and Dolly Black and Donna Tackett(all from Brownstown)had were a trio that sang at camp, etc. a lot. And they, interestingly enough, did not have matching outfits!
