Life Recruit Week, 1960

We tried to make Life Recruit Weeks different. For a couple of years teachers (and preachers) brought books for a library. Assignments were made and we even had a time slot for Study Hall. It didn't prove very successful, so it wasn't continued.

Life Recruit Week, 1960, Trip to Vandalia Penal Farm

We also tried to take a "trip" during Life Recruit week. In 1960 we went to the Vandalia Penal Farm. What is surprising about this picture is that on the left is George and Demsey Mathis. She must have been cooking that day and she and George just came along.
